The 2023 SMART4SEA Forum ended successfully on February 1st at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) National Library of Greece’s Bookcastle.
The focus was on the key trends shaping the maritime industry’s digital future. During the first panel, moderated by SAFETY4SEA’s Managing Editor, Apostolos Belokas, experts including Savvas Delis (Head of Sales, MarPoint), Evangelos Tzitzis (Unmanned Systems Manager, Diaplous Group), Fotis Tsitsirigkos (Fleet IT Manager), and Themistoklis Sardis (IT Manager, Costamare Shipping Company S.A.) discussed the drivers and barriers of the Shipping 4.0 era, technology breakthroughs and future smart technologies transforming shipping.
Our Savvas Delis, Head of Sales, spoke about the most promising trends and innovations in the maritime shipping industry, including Green Technology, Fast Satellite Communications on ships, 5G on ships, and Sensor technology and Performance Monitoring. He emphasized the crucial role of IT in driving technological excellence in the industry. Mr. Delis presented best IT practices such as building a strong IT infrastructure, creating a user-friendly environment for managing new technologies, and implementing strong cyber security measures.
